Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu was established in 1974. The college has been ranked 48th in 2019 by NIRF. It provides 15 Undergraduate and 10 Postgraduate courses in the domain of Commerce, Science and Arts along with some certificate and diploma courses.

It is known for its traditional Undergraduate Arts courses. The admission for courses is provided based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying exam. Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College Admission

The college has a separate admission procedure for self-financed and aided courses. In both cases, the admission is strictly based on the merit obtained by the candidate in the last qualification. The procedure of the application for the course offered is offline.

How to apply?

Aspirants, willing to take admission for the aided courses, need to obtain an application form of INR 50 for UG courses and INR 60 for PG courses from the college office.
Students can apply for courses but need to purchase separate forms for each.
For Self-financed courses, UG course applicants need to obtain an application form of INR 100 in person or send a demand draft worth INR 125. For PG courses, applicants need to submit a form of INR 150 in person or a demand draft of INR 175. For M.Phil. Courses, the application form fees are INR 200 in case of submitting it in person or a demand draft of INR 225.
Based on the submitted application and attested documents, the merit list is prepared and the selected candidate will be informed of the interview process.
The admission process starts only after the date of the declaration of State Board 10+2 results or final year graduation results. In the last few sessions, the merit list cut off has been closed at 75% of the last qualifying exam marks.

The placement cell of the institution has been active about the industrial contacts for gaining the best recruiters. The top recruiters are Placement camp, TVS, ICICI, Apollo Pharmacy, UAE Exchange, Muthoot Finance, Kotak Mahindra, Idea Cellular, Winner education Institution, Alcances Technology, BFSI. In the year 2016, the college provided placement to 250+ students. A total of 10 recruiters visited for college placement. 534 students opted for campus placements out of which 450 received the offer letter and 400 students got placed.

Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College Scholarship

The institute provides scholarships based on the guidelines of the state government. For self-financing courses, the post merit scholarship is available for SC, ST, OBC, and MBC candidates. The Agri labor scholarship is also provided to the students based on the annual income of the family. Scholarship for handicapped students, state scholarships for backward and denotified tribes can be availed by the students based on the eligibility criteria. The college management also provides funded scholarships such as the Red Ribbon club and Student Aid Fund.

Library: The library provides more than 48289 collections of books, 70 national and international journals. Book bank facility is provided to scholarly students and backward class students.
Auditorium: The college auditorium has an accommodation capacity of 2000 persons along with installed audiovisual settings.
Sports: Annual Sports is organized by the college committee and year-long sports practices are ensured through various co-curricular activities.
Canteen: The campus canteen avails students to have hygiene food after long class hours.
Laboratory: College provides well-equipped laboratories for all science departments such as Physics, Chemistry, and Computer. This helps the student gain more realistic and practical knowledge about the course modules.

The college ensures the quality of education that is provided to the students. Therefore, there are 190 faculty members in total to support the students. Dr. R. Dhanalaksmni is the Principal and Dean of the college. Among the 190 faculty members, 79 of them are M.Phil. Holders and 77 of them are Ph.D. Holders. Ans. The selected student will be informed through the post. They will be provided scheduled timing for submitting 3 Xerox copies of the required documents such as Transfer Certificate, Conduct Certificate, Aadhar card, community certificate, mark sheet of 10+2 or Graduation.

Ques. What is the timing of the college?

Ans. The college timing is from 8.45 am to 1.30 pm. The student needs to attend the classes regularly with a minimum attendance of 75%.

Ans. The College provides education to students at most nominal fees. For the BA course, the yearly fees for each student are INR 2500.

Ques. Which course is best known among the students?

Ans. All the courses of the college are well constructed. However, the BA courses are mostly preferred by the candidates. It is considered a traditional arts hub among the students.
