Kandra Radha Kanta Kundu Mahavidyalaya offers education to one of the most remote, deprived and backward areas of the state, Burdwan and adjoining Birbhum and Murshidabad districts. It was built with a lot of hopes and aspirations of the local population who wanted higher education for the youth of the district. The main aim of the college is to promote education and awareness in this area. The sole mission of the college is to spread higher education, particularly to women and minorities so that they can feel empowered and confident about facing the world.

- Well Built Infrastructure: The college is built on 5.27 acres of land and consists of lecture halls, well-maintained gymnasium complex and a hygienic canteen (serving both staff and students)It has a well-equipped laboratory for geography and physical education students and a library (for the students as well as teachers) with around 11,000 books.
- Encouraging atmosphere: Regular seminars, which open the parallels of the mind are organised in the college. These are taken up by eminent personalities.Stipend is provided by the West Bengal government to physically handicapped and backward students and by religious minority institutions to their deserving students.The student union is given a lot of respect and importance and contributes to creating a sense of discipline and brotherhood between the students to regulate the academic atmosphere.
