Jayaprakash Institute of Social Change, Kolkata, West Bengal was established in the year 1973. It envisions in implementing courses and programmes with diversified environment in the rural as well as urban localities in order to bring out vicissitudes in the constituent, so called micro societies. Since inception this institute has been striving hard to emerge as a Centre for a societal change and hence has always formulated its activities pertaining to transformation of the society. The institute works hand in hand with the Governmental and Non-Governmental organizations in the right based development, empowerment of the needy and work untiringly on the child related issues. It is the first NGO (organization) to run a school on social work. JPISC provides professional training to nurture its students with value and skills pertaining to the social work profession.
