Visa Requirements for International Applicants
Students wishing to study for 6 months or more need a study permit.
Requirements for a study permit:
- Completed application
- University acceptance letter
- Financial proof
- Bank statement
- Medical examination
If the application is approved the applicants will receive a Letter of Introduction (approval letter). On the basis of this letter, the border officials will issue a study permit (paper copy) for the applicant.

Nova Scotia Community College Certificate/Diploma Admissions
The certificate and diploma programs available with the college are offered to applicants with high school graduate diploma or applicants with IB Diploma.

Around 20,000 students study at the college in the various types of programs offered. The college has a lenient admissions policy. The admissions decisions are made on an immediate-response basis. This means that the applicants are sent a decision as soon as their completed application package is received by the college.
Admissions are offered on a waitlist basis as well, where applicants fulfilling the admissions criteria are kept if waitlist, as all the seats in the programs have been occupied by the applicants who applied earlier. There is usually a lot of movement in the waitlist during July and August. The college has a graduate employment rate of around 87%.
