• Diploma in Environmental Technician degree at the Cambrian College is offered a 2-years (5 semesters) program.
  • This program is offered on a full-time basis.
  • Through this program, students will gain the technical skills and practical field experience to identify, measure, and record environmental variables within the air, water, soil, and living organisms.
  • This program prepares students to perform appropriate sampling, use state-of-the-art equipment, and assist in the remediation and long-term evaluation and monitoring of contaminated ecosystem components.
  • Students will also be prepared to work on a variety of projects related to climate change issues, water conservation, and water management and other sustainability concerns.
  • Throughout the program, students will also build their knowledge of pertinent environmental regulations and policies.

    • 4-week internship in semester 5
    • Opportunity to earn National Green Check certification
    • Prepares to write the Operator-in-Training certification test for water treatment and distribution
    • Analyze, interpret, and evaluate air, water, soil, and ecological field data
    • Use case studies to understand provincial and federal legislation
    • Develop technical writing skills
