• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technician - Industrial degree at the Cambrian College is offered a 2-year (4 semesters) program.
  • This program is offered on a full-time basis.
  • Through this program, students will gain theoretical knowledge in the areas of installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of complex electrical machinery.
  • Students will also apply electrical safety code and print reading knowledge to commercial and industrial installations.
  • In addition, students will be introduced to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), power electronics, and instrumentation fundamentals.
  • There are some highlights of this program are:
    • The electrical lab features industry-standard 600-volt equipment
    • Hands-on experience using AutoCAD, PLCs, and instrumentation tools
    • Graduates are eligible to apply for the final year of Cambrian's Electrical Engineering Technology program
  • This program features an optional, paid co-op directly related to the program of study.
  • Students will be required to complete work preparation sessions prior to the work term to help develop an industry-specific resume and effective interviewing skills.
  • The teacher to student ratio is 1:17 which helps increase interaction between professors and students.
  • Students can get opportunities for experiential learning through clubs and competitions.
