• MA in Community Development at the University of Victoria is offered as a 2-years program by the School of Public Administration.

  • The Master of Arts in Community Development will build and develop students’ capacity to become successful leaders in the civil society and social economy, whether they work or volunteer in the non-profit sector either locally or internationally.
  • Throughout the program, students will apply new skills and knowledge to an ongoing research project for a client in the field of community development.
  • The program's unique focus on the application of learning outcomes means that students will graduate with a comprehensive and systematic understanding of the historical and political underpinnings, key concepts, and spheres of practice embedded in the social economy and civil society.
  • The MA program consists of a minimum of 17 units.
