PhD in Art History and Visual Studies at the University of Victoria is offered as a 3-years program by the Department of Art History and Visual Studies.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must have a bachelor’s and master’s degree in art history or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
A grade point average of 5.0/9.0 (B average) in the work of the last two years (30 units) leading to the bachelor’s degree.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students must complete a bachelor’s and master's degree in art history or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
The minimum grade score for a degree should be 7/10 (60%), first class.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

Written Sample: Sample of written art-historical research (your master’s thesis).
