University of Toronto (Rotman) MBA Application Process

Step 1: Choose the Right MBA Program

Candidates should take the time to research the various MBA specializations available at the University of Toronto and choose the one that aligns with their objectives, areas of interest, and background.

Step 2: Check the Admission Requirements

Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria.

Step 4: Write GMAT and IELTS

Eligibility Criteria	Candidates should have a graduate degree in any field, from any recognised university or college. Candidates should be a minimum of 18 years of age, if a candidate is below 18 years they require a no-objection certificate from the guardian A candidate must have a valid passport to appear for the GMAT Candidates can appear for the GMAT only 5 times a year and 8 times in a lifetime Candidates are eligible to write the GMAT again but 16 days after their first exam. There is no specific requirement for work experience but this criterion is preferred by the top business schools of the world.

Step 5: Prepare for Essays and Interview

As a candidate, you must highlight a distinctive attribute or ‘spike factor’ that you believe will add value to the Rotman community and relevant stories to showcase your uniqueness. Afterward, shortlist 2-3 of your strongest qualities. You may also include photographs that complement your stories to enhance your application.
Candidates may be asked a variety of questions, including What attracts you to Rotman?, Why have you chosen this particular course at Rotman?, Why do you feel that you are the ideal candidate for this course?, what can you bring to the Rotman community? and many more.

Step 6: Create an Online Profile

You will need to create an online profile to start your application. This profile will allow you to log in and out of your application as needed, track your progress, and receive updates on your status.

Step 7: Choose an MBA specialization and Start the Application

Once you have created your profile choose the MBA specialization you want to apply for and start your application.
You will be required to provide information such as personal details, academic qualifications, employment history, and language proficiency.

Step 8: Submit Required Documents

You will need to submit the following documents to complete your application:

Official Academic transcripts from all post-secondary institutions with full details of subjects studied and grades/marks obtained.

Step 9: Pay the Application Fee

You will need to pay the application fee, which is non-refundable. The fee amount varies depending on the program and citizenship.

Step 10: Track Your Application

After submitting your application, you can track your status by logging in to your profile. You will receive an email notification once your application is complete, and a decision has been made.

Step 11: Attend an Interview (if invited)

If you are selected for an interview, you will receive an invitation via email. Interviews can be conducted in person or virtually

Step 12: Receive Admission Decision

Once the admission committee has reviewed your application, you will receive an admission decision. If you are admitted, you will receive an official offer letter with details about the program, tuition fees, and other requirements.

Step 13: Scholarship Process

The scholarship process for international students is competitive, but there are several opportunities available to help. To be considered for scholarships, candidates must meet certain eligibility criteria, such as academic background, work experience, essays, LORs etc. Some scholarships are specific to certain regions, countries, or gender, so make sure to read the eligibility requirements carefully.
All candidates including international applicants are automatically considered for merit-based entrance scholarships. There is no need to submit a separate application for the scholarship. If you are selected for a scholarship, the U of T admissions office will notify you. Scholarship recipients are typically announced a few weeks after the application deadline.

Step 14: Offer Acceptance Period

Candidates generally have a period of one month to finalize their decision and reserve their spot by submitting a deposit of CAD 5,000.

Visa Application Process	Apply for admission at one of the Canadian universities, pay the tuition fees and receive an acceptance letter from the designated learning institute (DLI). Check if a study permit for Canada is required. eTA is required for all international applicants who wish to travel to Canada. Prepare all the documents required for applications, Purchase Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) Apply for the applications, Undertake the medical exams, Schedule biometric appointment and interview.
Waiting Time	Once you have submitted your application,Visa Application fees (CAD 150) and supporting documents, you need to wait for the processing of your application. The processing time is up to 9 weeks.
Provide Biometric information	If required, you need to provide biometric information, such as fingerprints, photograph and Biometric Fee of CAD 85.

An F-1 visa is a type of non-immigrant visa which allows individuals to study in the United States. A student who wishes to enter the US for studies on an F-1 visa will need to submit appropriate documentation in order to be issued a Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility) by UT. An F-1 visa can only be issued by a US consulate or embassy abroad.
The University of Texas at Austin usually requests H-1B nonimmigrant status for individuals it hopes to bring to the U.S. temporarily to perform services in a specialty occupation. This is an occupation that requires theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge. In this case, UT is the petitioner and the individual it hopes to bring is the beneficiary.

Work Study

Working off-campus is not permitted without specific permission from Texas Global or from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
F-1 students may work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Full-time employment (21+ hours per week) is allowed only during vacation periods for enrolled and continuing students. No special permission is necessary, however, a valid I-20 issued by The University of Texas at Austin is required. If students will graduate, then students are only eligible to work on campus until the graduation date of the final semester.
