The Master of Biotechnology (MBiotech) program is an interdisciplinary and course-based professional degree program offered through the Institute for Management & Innovation at the University of Toronto Mississauga.
Offering fields in both Biopharmaceutical and Digital Health Technologies, this full-time, 24-month program incorporates both science and business courses with 8 to 12 months of paid work experience in industry.
The program is designed to meet the evolving needs of students and these global industry sectors, with lecturers stemming from various University of Toronto Faculties and from biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries and governmental agencies.
The carefully selected combination of courses, coupled with relevant industry experience and a strong focus on teamwork, provides graduates with a truly interdisciplinary educational experience.
The program is a full-time, course-based master's degree which is launched in May each year.
Students must complete 9.5 graduate full-course equivalents (FCEs) over a 24-month period
An ongoing seminar series led by university, industry, and government specialists links all the participants with the academic, practical, and applied aspects of the program.

An F-1 visa is a type of non-immigrant visa which allows individuals to study in the United States. A student who wishes to enter the US for studies on an F-1 visa will need to submit appropriate documentation in order to be issued a Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility) by UT. An F-1 visa can only be issued by a US consulate or embassy abroad.
The University of Texas at Austin usually requests H-1B nonimmigrant status for individuals it hopes to bring to the U.S. temporarily to perform services in a specialty occupation. This is an occupation that requires theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge. In this case, UT is the petitioner and the individual it hopes to bring is the beneficiary.

Working off-campus is not permitted without specific permission from Texas Global or from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
F-1 students may work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Full-time employment (21+ hours per week) is allowed only during vacation periods for enrolled and continuing students. No special permission is necessary, however, a valid I-20 issued by The University of Texas at Austin is required. If students will graduate, then students are only eligible to work on campus until the graduation date of the final semester.
J-1 students may work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Full-time employment (21+ hours per week) is allowed only during vacation periods for enrolled and continuing students.
