• The Master of Science in Applied Computing (MScAC) Concentration in Data Science is offered jointly by the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Statistical Sciences. This program helps students to build skills at the intersection of computer science and statistics.
  • The goal of data science is to acquire knowledge from data. The field is rapidly progressing with data collection and processing technologies and has origins in statistics and computer science. Many data scientists are not only involved in the technological aspects of data, but in using data to help guide decision-making.
  • The data science concentration offers students an advanced understanding of statistical and computer science methods, vigorous research training and the opportunity to test their knowledge in the real world through our applied research internship.
  • Applicants may be asked to do a technical interview as part of the application process.
  • Students must successfully complete a total of 3.0 full-course equivalents (FCEs) including:
  • An eight-month industrial internship. The internship is coordinated by the department and evaluated on a pass/fail basis.
  • Program Length: 4 sessions full-time (typical registration sequence: F/W/S/F)
  • Time Limit :3 years full-time
  • There is no thesis requirement.
