- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a 4 years program at the University of Ottawa.
- This program is taught in English and French. So, students must opt for their language of Instruction.
- This program is offered jointly with two Ottawa-area colleges and in both official languages.
- Through this program, it seeks to prepare the next generation of nurses to offer quality nursing care and to assume leadership within the health care system.
- In this course, its mandate is to prepare generalist nurses:
- who can work in any place offering nursing care
- who have developed effective communication skills
- who use their critical thinking and analytical skills at work, and
- who are open to lifelong learning
- This program also leads to graduate studies (MSc, MSc - PHCNP, Ph.D.) in nursing sciences at the University of Ottawa.
- In order to provide the best practicum experience for all students, clinical placements may occur during the day, evening, or weekend, and they may extend into the months of May and June.
- These placements are in bilingual environments.
- You will be required to submit pre-clinical documents (such as immunization records, CPR certification, a police records check to work with vulnerable individuals, etc.) before the clinical component of the program begins.
