Dalhousie University offers a Certificate degree in Information Technology for a duration of 1 year.

The Certificate in Information Technology is a discipline-based program available to students majoring in Physics.
This program is designed to provide students with an understanding of information technology.
This may include knowledge obtained through symbolic calculion packages (i.e., MATLAB or MAPLE) and/or statistical packages (i.e., R- or S-plus), programming languages, proficiency in web design databases, and, thorough understanding of hardware and operating systems.
Students have to complete a 120 credit hour Major or Honours degree program in the Physics program.
Students in a major/honours program in Physics are required to take one of the three IT certificate courses as per the program requirements.
Students have to complete any two courses from the following program:
- Introduction to Numerical Programming
- Computational Methods in Physics
- Topics in Numerical Computing
Students can apply for various Scholarship and bursaries according to their academic eligibility at Dalhousie University.
The certificate program gives BSc students the chance to concentrate on an area in addition to their major.

Transcripts: Students have to submit transcripts from all universities/colleges attended, World Education Services Assessments, and English Language Proficiency test scores
Confirmation of Employment Form: Students must be emailed as an attachment by applicant or referee.
Proof of name change: Required only if name discrepancies exist between transcripts/assessments/test scores and other application documents. Examples of proof: Marriage/divorce certificates, 2 copies of government-issued ID that include a previous and current name and date of birth.
ELP Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores.
