• Dalhousie University offers a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering for a duration of 5 years.

  • Bachelor of Engineering Co-operative Education program integrates academic study with university-approved industrial experience. 
  • All first-year students will complete the core engineering program and students will apply to the Civil Engineering discipline in their second year.

  • The Civil Engineering program at Dalhousie prepares the graduates to design, plan, build, and operate elements of infrastructure and our wide range of lab experience provides practical experience.
  • Students get the opportunity to choose to complete the 5-year co-op program or the 4-year non-co-op program.
  • Co-op students take the same academic program as the non-co-op program, however, the co-op option gives students an opportunity to complement their studies with three paid work terms.
  • Work terms begin in student’s third year and typically last four months.
  • The Faculty of Engineering goes beyond traditional classroom education. The professors provide students with real-world experience through participation in faculty research projects.
