• While other schools offer Bioinformatics as a concentration within a Biology program, WPI’s BCB department draws equally from three disciplines Biology, Computer Science, and Mathematics.
  • Students will become versed in each and specialize in one, working alongside expert researchers to translate staggering volumes of biological data into new knowledge and uncover meaningful ways to improve health care and the environment.
  • WPI’s master’s in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BCB) will prepare me to become a truly interdisciplinary scientist with expertise in computer science, informatics, and statistics on the one hand, and life sciences on the other.
  • No matter what topics students choose, students will have many chances to apply their growing knowledge to solve real problems through hands-on projects.
  • Students will also synthesize their learning with a research-based thesis or industrial internship.
