Students are required to meet the prescribed scores on the Minnesota Teaching Licensure Examination (MTLE), which include: basic skills, content, and pedagogy. Upon completion of the Physical Education Teaching program, students will have developed the skills necessary to obtain Minnesota teaching licensure.

Graduates in the physical education major are employed as K-12 educators in private and public schools. Students can expand their career options by combining a health education major and a coaching minor and/or adventure tourism minor with the PE major.

Through traditional, as well as experiential methods, PESS faculty prepare students to become physical education (PE) teachers and coaches. We offer both undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as majors, minors, licensures and certificates.
