The Spanish major consists of a minimum of eleven semester courses above the level of Intensive Intermediate Spanish. A minimum of seven of the eleven courses required for the major must be taken on campus in the Department. At least seven of the courses must be upper division courses, numbered above 201. At least one course must be at the 300-level or above and at least one must be at the 400-level or above. These courses may be chosen among the Department offerings in Hispanic literature, Hispanic culture and civilization, and/or Spanish linguistics. Some majors may needto take up to fourteen courses to complete the requirements.
