Valdosta State?s biology major is one of the most popular programs at the university. Students work closely with faculty members both in the classroom and through research projects outside the classroom. Students can enhance their classroom experience by participating in several student organizations including the Biology Club, the Pre-Professional Club and the Horticultural Club. An annual research trip to Ireland each summer gives students additional opportunities to hone their skills and interact with faculty. The biology department is housed in a state-of-the-art facility that includes several teaching labs, a computer lab and other fully equipped labs.
