The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at SVSU offers a four-year, nationally-accredited program leading to the Bachelor's degree in?Electrical Engineering (BSEE).

All students receive a foundation in analog and digital circuits; electrical machines; electromagnetic fields; microprocessors; analog and digital control systems; digital signal processing; communications; and mechanical engineering. This foundation, hands-on lab and design experiences lead to high pass rates on the Fundamentals of Engineering professional exams for SVSU grads.?

The EE curriculum provides both the breadth and depth needed to prepare graduates for today's job market and for graduate school. The breadth aspect ensures that students receive a solid foundation of knowledge and experience necessary for an Electrical Engineer. The depth is fulfilled through careful selection of technical electives.

Students selecting the Electrical Engineering option are exposed in more depth to one or more of the following areas: digital controls, power systems, electronics and robotics. Those choosing the computer option become more experienced in the areas of microprocessors, computer circuits, computer hardware and software and data communications.
