Political science is the study of government, public policy, and the political behavior of individuals and groups. Political science uses humanistic and scientific perspectives to examine relationships among societies and nations in all countries and regions of the world. The major introduces students to concepts in politics, policy issues, and the structure of governments. Students interested in law, civil service, or foreign service should consult a department advisor regarding an appropriate course of study. American Politics is the study of the major branches of American national government and the theoretical and constitutional foundations upon which they are built, American political culture, public opinion and voting behavior. Students will also have the opportunity to study US intelligence, security and American foreign policy.
