Students may participate in excavations, travel, or study abroad programs in Egypt, Greece, and Italy. The Department also offers museum internship opportunities. In addition, a number of courses offered in the Department of Classics are cross listed and may be used toward a major or minor in other undergraduate programs.
The knowledge of languages, arts and literature, research methods, history, government, geography, and human behavior gained from a major in Classics form a strong foundation for many careers. Graduates in Classics can pursue careers in teaching, historical preservation, archaeological research, the arts, government, communications, and nonprofit work.
