Ongoing research by the faculty in the Neurosciences and Neurological Disorders graduate program is providing insights into neurotransmission, sensory system function, development, maintenance and plasticity of the nervous system, the basis of neural disease and the control of peripheral organs. As one of four biomedical science degree programs in the UT College of Medicine, the Neurosciences and Neurological Disorders program is an interdisciplinary course of study whose primary goal is to train students to be independent, creative and successful scientists. The program awards both Ph.D. and M.S. degrees and participates in the M.D./Ph.D. and M.D./M.S.B.S. joint degree programs.
