• The graduate program at the University of Connecticut is a Ph.D. program where students attain a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in the process of obtaining the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).
  • They do not admit students who are only interested in an M.A. degree in Sociology. 
  • The M.A. in Sociology requires a minimum of 37 credits. Fifteen credits are Sociology graduate elective courses. Nine credits are Master’s Thesis Research. The other credits are from the following required courses.
