The major is an option for students considering careers in behavioral neuroscience, clinical psychology, clinical neuropsychology, forensic psychology, gerontology, health psychology, medicine, neuroscience, and other such professions. With appropriate advising the major also may allow preparation for careers in other areas of biology, biomedical sciences, and science education. The behavioral neuroscience major is run jointly by the Departments of Behavioral Sciences and Biology, and it has two curricular options. The Biology option is recommended if you are pursuing a career in neuroscience/biology, and the Behavioral Sciences option is recommended if you are pursuing a career in behavioral neuroscience/behavioral sciences. Please work with your faculty advisor(s) to design the best set of experiences for your path.
