Students can elect to follow one of two concentrations: Exercise Science or Health Science. Each concentration provides students with the knowledge, skills and abilities they need to pursue further education or move into a variety of entry level positions in exercise and health sciences. Students may need to complete additional coursework for admission to some graduate and professional degree programs.

Program Learning Objectives

  • Demonstrate proficiency in critical thinking through written and oral communication.
  • Apply knowledge of the social and behavioral sciences to the study and practice of kinesiology and health science.
  • Apply knowledge of the natural sciences (e.g. physical, biological, and environmental sciences) to the study and practice of kinesiology and health science.
  • Apply the principles of quantitative and qualitative research to the study and practice of kinesiology and health science.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of diversity, social justice, and inclusion as it relates to physical activity and health.
