MA in Mathematics is a 2 years program offered by SJSU’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics
It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
Students are required to complete 33 credits for the program.
Students must choose one of three options: Plan A (Thesis), Plan B (Project), or Plan B (Comprehensive Examination).
Students majoring in mathematics learn to communicate mathematical ideas effectively and to use basic computational skills, mathematical models, and technology to solve practical problems.
The department provides two degrees: MA and MS degrees.
