The degree is a research-oriented degree requiring the student to produce a substantial and original contribution to knowledge. It is a terminal degree for which the student should be recognized as an expert capable of publishing in refereed professional journals and capable of disseminating knowledge in applied or educational settings.
Learning Outcomes:
- synthesize information in an area of study within Kinesiology and communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written form using an appropriate style guide.
- demonstrate the acquisition of knowledge and understanding in an area of study within Kinesiology through a culminating experience.
- evaluate research literature and engage in productive research and/or scholarly activity as appropriate to their chosen career goals.
- acquire the necessary conceptual and practical skills necessary to read and evaluate the professional and research literature and conduct research in the behavioral, biophysical, or social specializations of kinesiology.
