  • Ability to write in a variety of culturally appropriate genres, including coherent and well-organized essays with clear thesis statements and analytical argumentation.
  • Awareness of fundamental concepts of major critical theories and the ability to apply these in the analysis of literary texts.
  • Familiarity with a variety of culturally significant creative and expository texts, films, or other artifacts from major periods of German cultural history and the ability to discuss these works and their creators in their social, cultural, historical contexts.
