For those seeking work at the graduate level, it provides a thorough preparation for a professionally-accredited Master of Architecture program, or studies in related environmental design fields. The program requires two years of liberal arts education during which students will take a number of pre-architecture requirements. Once admitted into the major in the junior year, students will take a number of required courses which provide a broad introduction to the field of architecture and a solid foundation for the development of individualized programs at the graduate level.

Students who wish to major in architectural studies should first meet with the departmental undergraduate adviser to receive an orientation to the major. Any student interested in architectural studies major may request to be classified as pre-architecture.
