SLU's art history students are not limited to classroom learning. Interested students can pursue opportunities to experience firsthand what a career in the arts involves by preparing exhibitions, curating collections or even planning and presenting lectures and tours for the public. You will be encouraged to spend a summer or semester on our campus in Madrid, where our art history faculty can connect you with great works housed in internationally renowned museums.
SLU's art history program can also connect you to internships in the arts locally (the Saint Louis Art Museum and numerous other galleries are all within a 10-mile radius of campus) and across the country. The Saint Louis University art history program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
To earn a Bachelor of Arts in art history, students must complete 36 credit hours of required coursework. Eighteen of the 36 credit hours must be from the 3000/4000-level courses.
