The Department of Management Information Systems offers two degree programs: (1) a bachelor of business administration in management information systems (MIS); and (2) a bachelor of business science in computer information systems (CIS).? Most courses are offered in the traditional, face-to-face format, while some courses are offered in an online format. The department also has an active internship program with local organizations that allows students to gain valuable experience in various information technology (IT) related fields.
The emphasis is on applications of information technologies supporting business needs, rather than the computer itself. Students earning a BS in CIS can develop skills in web and application development, systems analysis and design, database management, and IT project management. Students are encouraged to include general business, computer art, as well as many other topics in support of developing a well-rounded study of the information technology field in the application in of solutions for today?s business needs.
Students completing the BBA in MIS; in addition to forming a strong background in information technologies will develop a firm foundation in the skills required to support business operational needs.? Student may study in areas such as accounting, economics, general business, marketing, and management in order to complete the requirements for this degree program.
