• Students in the M.S. degree obtain mastery of an area of Electrical Engineering through the completion of either a Thesis Option (Plan I) or an Exam Option (Plan II).
  • The focus is on obtaining mastery of a specific area through taking advanced courses and/or completing a thesis.
  • The program is 1-2 years. At least 36 units in ECE and related areas.
  • Students will be required to write and present a Master’s thesis as part of their degree requirements. They will also be required to complete an additional 12 units of research.
  • Students will be required to pass a comprehensive exam that consists of five questions selected from one of the following three exam areas: Nano-materials and Devices; Signals, Systems, and Machine Intelligence; and VLSI Circuits and Systems.
