- As a student in this program, they will:
- Design their own six-course concentration from at least three disciplines
- Take at least two MALS Seminars specially designed to engage students and feature a range of topics
- Get to know a wide variety of students and faculty from across the campus
- The Master of Arts in Liberal Studies degree has become increasingly popular and is now offered by over 100 universities. This MALS Program is a member of the Association of Graduate Liberal Studies Programs, a consortium of universities throughout North America that offer this degree.
- In contrast to traditional disciplinary or professional studies, the MALS degree allows students to explore and connect their diverse interests in a personalized way, that complements their life and career goals.
- In the MALS Program, you design concentrations tailored to your interests, so the possibilities are infinite. These are just a few examples of how recent MALS students have designed their concentrations:
- National and International Issues and Decision-Making
- Science, Technology and Society
- The Human Animal
- The American Experience
- The Community
