The ?programme taught at ?involves both classroom study and extensive field experiences, culminating in a fulltime, semesterlong Student Teaching experience. In accordance with the Pennsylvania State Department of Education (PDE) requirements, candidates must satisfy all regulations pertaining to teacher training contained in the Pennsylvania School Code. These regulations are subject to change by the State of Pennsylvania. Students will be required to comply with any such regulations that are instituted before they can apply for certification through PDE.
You can choose from education majors in Liberal Arts:?PreK-4 Education, as well as certification options in?Art Education for grades K-12, and?Secondary Certification?in English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry for grades 7-12.
Students in secondary and K-12 certification areas must complete a major in the academic discipline: English, mathematics, history, physics, biology, and chemistry. Students also complete professional education coursework and field experiences, and candidates complete student teaching in grade levels representative of the candidates' licenses.
