During the  programme offered by the Duquesne University students can develop competencies in a number of areas, including intercultural and interpersonal communication, organizational communication, argumentation, event planning, persuasion, professional communication, visual communication, rhetoric and popular culture, and community relations. 

Communication majors pursue careers in family businesses and for-profit and non-profit organizations or graduate school in communication, law, public policy, healthy policy and administration, or business.
