The format and courses of this regionally accredited and Arizona-approved program are designed to maximize the content knowledge that you possess upon graduation. All courses are directly aligned with Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC) principles and to the standards of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). Programs leading to teacher certification may require practicum hours, state exams, student teaching and an institutional recommendation from GCU.
This content-rich teaching degree is for students who are preparing for a career educating students in grades 7-12 and who are seeking initial teacher licensure. As a graduate of this BS in chemistry degree program, you meet requirements for the secondary education certificate in chemistry. You also qualify for a middle grades endorsement, which allows you to teach in grades 5-12.
