• Medicinal Chemistry is an interdisciplinary field, involving chemistry and important aspects of biological and pharmaceutical sciences. Medicinal Chemistry focuses on the discovery, design, and invention of biologically active compounds, the study of their metabolism, the interpretation of their modes of action at the molecular level, and the understanding of structure-activity relationships.
  • Our outstanding division offers research opportunities and graduate education on the discovery and development of new drugs as well as the exploitation of new biological targets for the treatment of cancer, malaria, CNS disorders, and infectious diseases. We blend conventional disciplines to conduct research in asymmetric organic synthesis, computational drug design, automated high-throughput synthesis and analysis, biological evaluation, and assay development.
