Under the direction of Dr. Jessica Sternfeld and Dr. Amy Graziano, the Bachelor of Arts in Music at Chapman University is designed to give students a solid foundation in the major styles and trends of Western music from Ancient Greece to the present and to prepare the undergraduate student to investigate a wide range of research topics in musicology, ethnomusicology, and related fields. Students gain insight into music's historical and cultural contexts through a series of courses ranging from the introductory level through four upper-division courses that explore the chronological style periods of music, to the advanced study of individual topics in the music history seminar.
