Laboratory testing encompasses such disciplines as clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology, and molecular biology.
US News and World Report has listed careers in the clinical laboratory in the top 50 careers of 2010 and 2011 due to an increased need for qualified professionals and good starting salaries.
