The Environmental Health program offers both a major and a minor. Environmental Health focuses on the assessment, control and prevention of biological, chemical and physical hazards in our environment that may lead to human health problems or environmental damage.

An individual studying Environmental Health is preparing for a wide range of employment opportunities. The student studies biological, chemical and physical sciences. Examples of topic areas include food protection, water and wastewater management, indoor and outdoor air quality control, waste management methods, occupational health, and industrial hygiene.

The training in this program provides a wide range of skills that would enable the students to work indoors and outdoors. Most graduates find employment in community environmental public health, industrial hygiene, institutional environmental health, environmental protection, and environmental health and safety.
