Individuals with a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with a major in physical education can be certified to teach physical education at elementary schools, secondary schools, and community college. Physical educators that graduate from this program are prepared to provide high quality physical education that leads to the development of physically literate students who are prepared engage in lifelong health related physical activity.

All Physical Education Teacher Education classes are taught by full-time faculty who have earned advanced and terminal degrees within the profession and have had K-12 teaching experience.

Upon graduation, students are qualified to apply for Illinois certification and are eligible to teach in public and private schools, kindergarten through 12th grade.
