The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program (85 credit hours) for all studio areas requires a senior thesis and/or an exit portfolio evaluation. All students go through periodic review of their portfolios through out their undergraduate education.?
The School of Art reserves the right to retain examples of student work for exhibition and accreditation. Students are assigned an advisor within their specialization upon completing 30 hours of coursework. Courses provide students the opportunity to work with professors in state-of-the-art studio facilities, visiting artists and designers, and exhibition opportunities. Art students who meet the grade requirements at the end of their first year may select an area of specialization for their second through fourth years of study.?
Specializations involve a three-year sequence of courses beyond the first-year core. Some areas, such as Visual Communication and Animation, require students to undergo an additional review after successful completion of the foundation core. Students are strongly advised to pursue required course sequences during the regular academic year.
