The Mathematics and Computer Science Department is designed to meet the needs of students desiring careers in business, industry, and teaching as well as preparation for advance studies at the graduate level.
The Math/Computer Science Club is open to students with interests in math and/or computers. Students do not spend all of their time solving problems, but they can answer math and computer questions. The club sponsors special events such as pizza parties and picnics. Members also offer peer advisement to SMSU students to that they have a greater opportunity to be successful. The club welcomes all interested students.
Students majoring in mathematics may apply their technical strengths to second majors in many programs such as accounting, business administration, computer science, and science. The faculty of the Mathematics programs have been selected to provide quality instruction in all branches of mathematics.
