The undergraduate curriculum in industrial engineering prepares students for professional careers in the analysis and design of human-machine work systems. Students entering the industrial engineering undergraduate program will be assigned a faculty advisor and will be responsible for arranging a course of study with the advisor's approval.

The objectives of the Industrial Engineering program are: to graduate well rounded Industrial Engineers who are prepared for employment or entry into a graduate program; to graduate Industrial engineers who have a strong sense of professionalism, with respect for fellow workers and their profession; and to provide graduates with a set of skills that will allow them to grow professionally and provide service and leadership in their careers.

Graduates of the undergraduate program are recruited heavily by a variety of national and regional corporations and generally start with above-average salaries.
