The M.S. degree with a specialization in Health Promotion familiarizes students with the underpinnings of health promotion. Courses place an emphasis on prevention and areas such as worksite health promotion, college health promotion, and applied current research. Our graduates are employed in a variety of settings such as worksites, schools, health departments, health/wellness related businesses, and colleges and universities.

The program is designed to enable students to demonstrate the areas of responsibility and competencies based on A Competency-Based Framework for Health Education Specialists – 2010, making them eligible for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) exam. For those students interested in school health education, students who have a Rank II can pursue Rank I advanced teacher certification.
