The faculty identify the following two items as the key learning objectives for this major:

  • Encourage entrepreneurial thinking among students, which entails the ability to recognize, evaluate and pursue new venture opportunities.
  • To build professional skills relevant for starting and managing a new venture; these include opportunity evaluation, data-based research, business planning and understanding the functional aspects of small business management, including marketing, operational management, financial analysis, taxation, human-resource management and computer use.
