Western Michigan University's public relations program combines projects, case-study reviews and practical learning experiences to prepare you to serve as a public relations professional. The program also incorporates the study of attitudes and behaviors, which will help you understand how to best reach your target audiences and counsel management on matters relating to communication and public opinion. This is a writing-intensive field and solid communication skills are a necessity.
As a public relations student at WMU, you will have the opportunity to prepare for nonprofit leadership by participating in the American Humanics certificate program. You may also join a number of student organizations including WMU's Public Relations Organization, which provides networking opportunities and allows you to learn more about the public relations profession.
