Students who anticipate candidacy for a degree are strongly encouraged to take courses based on guidelines provided by their advisors. Merely taking a collection of courses is not the same as matriculating within a program leading to a graduate degree. A comprehensive oral examination is required of all students completing graduate programs in school library media education. Presentation of a Professional Portfolio is a required part of the oral examination.
