Students in Exercise and Sport Science study the broad area of human movement. This means that you will study sport, but it also means you will study more than sport.

Our mission at the Department of Exercise and Sport Science is to facilitate students to become effective certified coaches and/or teachers looking for professional fields in:

  • Teaching
  • Schools or educational settings
  • Fitness industries
  • Nonprofit organizations
  • Personal training
  • Professional organizations
  • Coaching

You will study God's greatest creation, the human body, how it moves, why it moves, and the beauty of that movement. If you are interested in athletic training, coaching, being a PE teacher, health and fitness, exercise, rehabilitation, or physical therapy; or if you like sport and all its facets, including sport psychology, sport writing, sport sociology, or sport history, this is the area of study for you.

Students who graduate from these programs continue on toward graduate school; work in elementary schools, secondary schools, and other educational settings; work in business and sales; work in the fitness industry; are personal trainers; are firefighters; are paramedics; are athletic trainers; are physical therapists. The paths are endless, because your book for study was and is the human body.
