The Master of Science in Counseling Psychology is accredited by the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council (MPCAC) and maintains a mission to provide the knowledge, dispositions, and skills necessary for students to become competent professional counselors and/or seek further graduate study.
The program provides training in the foundations required of proficient consumers of psychological science.
As such, students are trained to utilize the science of psychology to inform sound diagnostic and evidence-based interventions consistent with the philosophical underpinnings of Counseling Psychology in serving their clients, community, and the profession.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must hold a four-year Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
Students must present evidence, by an official transcript, of a grade point average equivalent to at least 2.75 (calculated on a 4.0 scale) for the last two years (60 hours) of undergraduate study.
Submission of English Proficiency Test scores is required.
A bachelor's degree in psychology is not required but preferred.
Students having earned degrees in other academic areas may want to complete some undergraduate coursework prior to entering a graduate program.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.

1: Describe students' professional goals and how this program will help there accomplish this. College program supports students seeking to practice as a counselor post-degree or those interested in continuing to doctoral study in Counseling Psychology. Be sure students answer addresses their intention for this degree including practice populations, settings, or presenting issues of interest and/or research interests. (If students have research interests, please indicate the faculty members they would most want to work with on that research.) The content of student’s answers should address how this program will allow them to pursue these interest areas.
